Cui Lie 崔烈 was Grand Commandant during the late years of the East Han dynasty.
Biography[]
Cui Lie was a former Grand Commandant by 189. When the court welcomed back Emperor Shao and his younger brother, from being held hostage by the eunuchs at Beiwang, Cui Lie was at the front of the group, showing his seniority. Soon, Dong Zhuo's army came to receive the Emperor. When Cui Lie scolded and demanded that he move aside, Dong Zhuo yelled at him, "Day and night, we travelled 300 li to come, so why say that I should move aside? So I cannot cut your head off?!" After a brief talk with the royals, Dong Zhuo and the court returned back to Luoyang.[1]
