The Emperor alone rode his horse, and the Prince of Chenliu with Gong together rode his horse, and they followed the Luo and rested southward. The Excellencies, Ministers, and other officials received and welcomed them at Banxia, Beiwang, and the former Elite Commandant; Cui Lie was at the front. Zhuo led infantry of cavalry, numbering thousands, to come and welcome them, so Lie scolded the messenger for being distant. Zhuo yelled at Lie, "Day and night, we travelled 300 li to come, so why say that I should move? So I cannot cut your head off?!" He moved forward to the Emperor and said, "Your Majesty has allowed the Regular Attendants and the petty ones at the Yellow Gates to cause disorder in such ways and therefore achieve disaster and failure. Are you disappointing those that aren't petty?" And he hastened to the Prince of Chenliu, saying, "I am Dong Zhuo. Come to me and be embraced." Thus he clasped firmly, taking the Prince from Gong.")
