Xi Zhicai 戲志才 was a minor civil official who served Cao Cao. He was one of many recommended to him by Xun Yu. However, he died relatively early.
Biography[]
Xi Zhicai came from Yingchuan commandery. He was noticed for his talent by Xun Yu, who recommended him to Cao Cao. Cao Cao consulted Xi Zhicai when making plans and strategies, valuing Xi Zhicai. Xi Zhicai was similar to Guo Jia in that they did not associate themselves with popular customs, earning ridicule from some.[1] When Xi Zhicai died relatively early from unspecified causes, Xun Yu recommended Guo Jia as his successor.[2][3]
