Xiahou Lan 夏侯蘭 was a general subordinate to Xiahou Dun. He was from Zhending county, Changshan commandery. He was acquaintances with Zhao Yun when they were young. He fought against Zhao Yun at Bowang in 202, but was captured, but when Liu Bei decided what to do with him, Zhao Yun asked Liu Bei to spare him. As Xiahou Lan was knowledgeable in laws, Zhao Yun recommended that he become a Discipline Officer.[1]
